Sharon arranges a diverse calendar of events for the charity - from Valentine's Day Balls to celebrity fashion shows, often involving celebrities, such as Angharad Mair, Alex Jones and Andrea Benfield, and showcasing the talents of up and coming Welsh designers such as Helen Rhiannon, Kate McKenny and Caregos Couture - to name but a few.

Sharon is married, has two children and lives in Llandaff, Cardiff.
Having looked at the list of forthcoming George Thomas Hospice events list for 2009 (http://www.george-thomas-hospice.org.uk/fundraising/) we caught up with the extremely busy Sharon Owen for a quick interview...
CC ... Sharon why are you involved with the George Thomas Hospice charity - and how long have you been associated with their work?
SO ... 'George Thomas Hospice is a great charity, it benefits so many people in the Cardiff area. You really feel that you are part of a team that provides such a valuable service.'
CC ... Arranging the various fundraising events must be hard work, but rewarding, how do you find time to relax and what is your favourite past-time?
SO ... 'I enjoy singing and amateur dramatics, having recently completed rehearsals and a production of The King and I at the Wales Millennium Centre. I enjoy walking my dog Max and going to the theatre and cinema.'
CC ... A great deal of your work involves working closely with celebrities. Which celebrity do you most admire and why?
SO ... 'It is impossible to single out one celebrity because they are all so generous with their time and always so willing to help out when they can. But I have to admire a 12 year old harpist Ben Creighton Griffiths for showing such wisdom at such a young age. He is always very willing to help out! And I am sure that this approach will help him as he climbs up the musical ladder!'
CC ... Who is your favourite fashion designer?
SO ... 'Anything goes! I love clothes and boutiques but I always look for a bargain!'
CC... Do you have a favourite restaurant in Wales? Why is this your favourite?
SO ... 'Patagonia in Kings Road, Canton. They are so welcoming and friendly! The distinctiveness of the cuisine and care and dedication they put into the preparation.
The Huntsman Restaurant in Dinas Powys, for a quiet and romantic night out or for Sunday Lunch. Peter and Hilary are very friendly and the food is gorgeous!'
CC ... What is your signature dish?
SO ... 'Sunday Roast with lots of vegetables!!!'
CC ... Name your favourite cocktail?
SO ... 'Sea Breeze – reminds me of being by the sea and very delicious!'
CC ... Which part of the world do you most enjoy visiting and why? Is there somewhere you are yet to visit which you'd like to?
SO ... 'Positano in Italy, situated on The Amalfi Coast. Stunning scenery and views. Exquisite food and a fantastic place to relax!! I would love to visit Australia or South Africa, one day.'
CC ... Sharon Owen, thank you.
